Qué es el Past Simple?

El Past Simple es un tiempo verbal que, como su nombre ya indica, habla del pasado.
Hay varios tiempos verbales para hablar del pasado pero el Past Simple es el más usado para el pasado.

La parte fácil del Past Simple es que la conjugación del verbo es igual para todas las personas.

Por ejemplo, el pasado de work es worked, entonces dices:
I worked, you worked, he worked, we worked, etc.

La parte difícil es que hay una lista larga de verbos irregulares, y es cuestión de memorizarlos.

Cómo formar el Past Simple

El Past Simple se forma así:
Subjeto + el infinitive del verbo + ED

I worked
You talked
She walked
He called
It rained
We cooked
You booked
They looked

smoke
smokeDI smoked 5 cigarettes yesterday
liveliveD I lived in Spain from 1999 to 2001

Todos los ejemplos arriba mencionados son verbos regulares.

Verbos irregulares- Past simple irregular verbs

Como mencionado antes; hay una lista larga de verbos irregulares. Muchos de los verbos más usados son irregulares, empezando con el verbo más usado el verbo: to be.
El Past Simple del to be es: was were.
